What testosterone therapy is—and what it isn’t

Testosterone therapy (also called testosterone replacement therapy or TRT) replaces testosterone in men with a documented medical cause of low levels. It is not intended for normal age-related dips. We follow recognized guidance so your men’s health plan stays evidence-based and safe.

Who qualifies

We don’t guess—we test. Diagnosis requires:

  • Two separate early-morning total testosterone tests on different days, plus compatible symptoms.
  • Basic hormone workup to distinguish primary vs. secondary hypogonadism.
  • A review of sleep, medications, fertility goals, and cardiovascular risk.

If the numbers and your story don’t align, we re-check before starting TRT. That protects your health and your results.

How it works

You and your clinician choose a method—shots, a daily gel or patch, pellets placed under the skin, an oral capsule, or a quick nasal dose. We start with a low dose, check your blood at the scheduled interval, and adjust to keep your level in the mid-normal range for adult men.

We also track blood pressure, hematocrit, and PSA when appropriate and pay attention to how you feel: energy, libido, mood, sleep, and recovery. If levels run high or side effects show up, we pause the dose.
